Wastewater from commercial kitchens is contaminated with FOGS (fats, oils and greases). The introduction of FOGs and food solids into the general drainage/sewage system (either main sewage network or private treatment facilities) is detrimental to its proper function and has been shown to be a significant cause of blockages, restrictions and flooding.

GT Grease Traps are designed for kitchens and small restaurants as and
meet all the requirements of the relevant legislation. The GT design conforms to both Building Regulations Part H and BS EN 1825 the British Standard for Grease Traps and Separators.

How the GT works
Wastewater from the kitchen sinks enters the gt trap via the inlet. This water will typically have FOG’s in the flow. When the warm wastewater hits the cold or tepid water in the gt . . immiscible liquids like oils and greases will settle out at the top water level, where they will cool down and start to solidify.
Solid food matter and fines, being heavier than water will drop to the base of the gt where they settle.
Cleaner water will flow through the mid level of the gt and then discharge at the outlet pipe.
